This is the official bilateral council of the Women's Indian Chamber of Commerce & Industry (WICCI) in Nigeria. Our council consists of women entrepreneurs, business leaders and industry professionals from different sectors. We are committed to advocating, connecting, empowering & strengthening affirmative action toward women's impact in the global business corridor.
Who We Are
What We Do
Supported by the massive global and influential women’s networks viz. G100, Women Economic Forum (WEF) and SHEconomy, with 500,000 members and industry leaders worldwide, WICCI drives fundamental changes in policies, laws, incentives and entrepreneurial ecosystems, with a view to robustly support women in business, industry and commerce across all sectors and fields.
WICCI Councils have a robust inter-disciplinary & cross-sectional structure enabling knowledge and leadership from all strata of economy and society, forming the basis of policy changes at the top levels of decision-making as well as mindset and societal transformation at the grassroots.
Representing a wide variety of sectors of industry, economy and society, WICCI actively engages the voice of thousands of women entrepreneurs and professionals.
These diverse inputs converge to shape many unique ideas, interventions and innovative recommendations presented to government authorities for policies - having a huge growth impact on women’s businesses, professions, equity and empowerment.
The Nigeria-India Business Council is a diverse community of businesswomen, female entrepreneurs, and industry change-makers from all over Nigeria interested in building relations with India. The mission of the Nigeria-Indian Business Council is to strengthen commercial ties between the two countries - Nigeria and India - in order to help women in their careers and their businesses. WICCI Nigeria will organize delegations for visits between the two countries, in order to showcase business opportunities in various sectors of interest.
Our council will serve as a platform to highlight women's accomplishments and unique experiences. Through sharing knowledge, business opportunities, and best practices, our Council amplifies the awareness of women's contributions in developing Nigeria-India relations.
This is a response to the underrepresentation of female leaders in various sectors, and business; senior-level positions, advisory boards, and c-suites, as well as the lack of gender diversity, unequal opportunities and marginalization of female professionals and women in the workplace.
The WICCI Nigeria-India Business Council will develop other unique measures to empower Women Entrepreneurs and Industry Professionals, toward enhancing our economic inclusion and strengthening our growth in the global business corridor with India as the primary gateway and channel.
Public Advocacy
We advocate for innovative measures that strengthen women's participation in global trade and we develop areas of focus across different sectors of interest, thereby mainstreaming women’s voices and upholding women’s interests, economic inclusion and visibility at multiple levels of various industries.
Policy Recommendation
We provide recommendations via regular representations to relevant government authorities and institutions in both Nigeria and India, toward mitigating the many challenges women face, improving women's economic impact at the industry level, facilitating our ease of doing business, and empowering women-owned businesses to thrive.
Business Advisory
We develop business frameworks for women's improved access to finance, credit and tax benefits and business development services, our NIBC Mentoring Programme, and listing your product and services for free on SHEconomy - our online global marketplace for sales.
